Introducing VRMCA’s Concrete Leadership Program!

The new leadership program has been expanded to include two additional sessions over the course of 21 months, beginning in August 2019 and concluding with the final case study presentation delivered at the VRMCA Spring Convention in May 2021. The program will now include the following face-to-face meetings, with the two new sessions highlighted in bold:

August 8-9, 2019
February 2020
Late Spring 2020
Fall 2020
Late March 2021

May 2021

Myers-Brigg Assessment
State Lobbying 101/General Assembly Visits
Federal Lobbying 101/Washington D.C.
Plant & Quarry Site Visits
High Performance Training/Case Study Assignment
Case Study Presentation at the VRMCA Spring Convention

The first new session will allow participants to take part in state lobbying efforts during the General Assembly in Richmond, meeting with legislators here in Virginia before heading to Washington, D.C. for federal lobbying efforts in late spring. The second new session has participants visiting cement and ready mixed concrete plants in the Roanoke area.

While the name and the structure have changed, what remains the same are the goals of the program: to provide participants with an opportunity to build leadership skills, develop a diverse business network, meet legislative leaders, become an advocate for their profession, and prepare for challenges facing the future of the ready mixed concrete industry.
