Vistar Eye Center is expanding once again. This time, it’s with a new facility on Airport Road in Roanoke County. And while the care they provide patients will remain the same, the building itself will be a bit different. This location will feature insulated concrete forms (ICF) construction.

The new facility  – which was designed by Cornett & Cundiff, Inc. – will be more than 26,000 square feet. It will house the advanced equipment needed to diagnose and provide care for diseases such as diabetic retinopathy. In addition to specialized services, the site will also offer routine eye care to patients. ICF installer Olympic Construction, LLC will be using Nudura forms for the project and Chandler Concrete will be supplying the concrete.

The practice – which recently expanded its staff to 25 includig five retina specialists – wanted to provide a more central location for its patients to access the care they need. The Airport Road location fit the bill perfectly due to its proximity to the interstate.

The project broke ground mid-2021 and is slated to take about 18 months to complete.
