Stephen Render is currently Vice President and General Manager (VPGM) for the Mideast Division of Vulcan Materials Company, with responsibility for aggregate, ready mix and trucking operations in Virginia. His career began with Florida Rock Industries as an operations trainee, in 1993. His responsibilities grew in size and scope as Florida Rock expanded its footprint in Virginia and Washington DC in the early 2000’s. He became a Vulcan employee when Vulcan acquired Florida Rock in 2008. Prior to his current position, he was responsible for Vulcan’s operations in MD, PA, DE and eastern VA, including crushed stone, sand and gravel, ready mix concrete and marine.
