BIO

Robert M. O’Brian Jr received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hampden-Sydney College in 2000. He is the President of Lynchburg Ready Mix Concrete Company, Inc., a family-owned business serving concrete needs in Lynchburg and surrounding counties. The Company was founded by James McCarthy in 1947. Robert’s father, Robert M. O’Brian Sr., began working for Mr. McCarthy in the early 1970’s and became sole owner of the business in 1989. Robert began learning the family business working as a loader operator, dispatcher and quality control during the summers while attending college. In 2000-2001 he spent a short period with company as a plant manager before deciding to move to Richmond, VA to pursue working for and learning from similar organizations within the construction material supply industry. In late 2007 he returned to the family business. Over his 12 year career with Lynchburg Ready Mix he has formed many long lasting relationships with customers and fellow employees while maintaining the goal of providing a quality product with superior service to Central Virginia. Robert continues to learn and enjoy the every-day challenges of marketing and promoting the most versatile and sustainable building material on the planet.
