Dynamic Aviation in Bridgewater, VA is expanding its footprint with the addition of a new hangar and in the process tried something different. The company decided to go with white dye concrete rather than finishing the project with an epoxy coating over the concrete.

The project – which features concrete supplied by VRMCA-member Rockingham Redi-Mix – includes 600 yards of 4000 psi white die concrete (cement and slag mix). The mix also included #25 of white Solomon dye per yard to achieve the desired effect. The finishing was done by Lloyd Concrete with some assistance from Concrete Solutions. The concrete was placed over three days in February 2020: approximately 200 yards per day. That’s about 20 mixer trucks heading to the project site each of the three days!

With the concrete in place, the new hangar is set to open mid-year 2020.
